Pairwise Incompatible Generic Families

چکیده
Let M be a countable model of ZF~ . There exists a family & of 2 models of ZF each obtained from M by adjoining an A/-generic family of 2W Cohen reals, such that no two distinct models in !F have a common extension to a model of ZF~ with the same ordinals.

Communication-efficient parallel generic pairwise elimination
The model of bulk-synchronous parallel (BSP) computation is an emerging paradigm of general-purpose parallel computing. In this paper, we consider the parallel complexity of generic pairwise elimination, special cases of which include Gaussian elimination with pairwise pivoting, Gaussian elimination over a finite field, generic Neville elimination and Givens reduction. We develop a new block-re...
متن کاملRelaxation of three solenoidal wells and characterization of three phase H-measures
We study the problem of characterizing quasiconvex hulls for three “solenoidal” (divergence free) wells in dimension three when the wells are pairwise incompatible. A full characterization for a generic regime is achieved by translating the problem into the language of H-measures, following recipes of Kohn and Smyshlyaev & Willis, in combination with certain ideas based on Šverák’s example of a...
متن کاملCountable Lters on !
Two countable lters on ! are incompatible if they have no common innnite pseudo-intersection. Letting a(P f) denote the minimal size of a maximal uncountable family of pairwise incompatible countable lters on !, we prove the consistency of t < a(P f).
متن کاملSecond Order Families of Special Lagrangian 3-folds
A second order family of special Lagrangian submanifolds of C m is a family characterized by the satisfaction of a set of pointwise conditions on the second fundamental form. For example, the set of ruled special Lagrangian submanifolds of C 3 is characterized by a single algebraic equation on the second fundamental form. While the ‘generic’ set of such conditions turns out to be incompatible, ...
متن کاملGenetic analysis of families of patients with Behçet's syndrome: data incompatible with autosomal recessive inheritance.
Data on families with Behçet's syndrome were analysed to test a hypothesis of autosomal recessive inheritance. Fifteen families from the UK and nine from Turkey were included. There were 27 individuals with Behçet's syndrome according to the Japanese criteria and 119 unaffected individuals. There were no affected parents in the families. The 'goodness of fit' test of Elandt-Johnson was applied ...
